Dr. Duong

As a believer in a common thread among all matters in the grand scheme of things, Dr. Duong spreads his interests across multiple disciplines, having graduated with a bachelor of science in engineering, a master in business administration, and a doctorate in medicine. After medical school, Dr. Duong completed a general surgery residency at Shands Jacksonville Florida and a plastic surgery residency at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. Dr. Duong also had a fellowship in cosmetic surgery at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia and an apprentice with the late well known aesthetic plastic surgeon Dr. Bernard Kaye.

After residencies and fellowships, Dr. Duong continues to see the interconnection among all aspects of plastic surgery in his private practice, which spans the last 20 years over four locations. First stop was in Tupelo, Mississippi, where he furthered his experiences in trauma reconstruction. Second stop was in Cape Coral/ Fort Myers, Florida, where his practice was concentrated in hand surgery. Third stop was in Fort Lauderdale area, where he honed his skills in large volume cosmetic practice. And finally here in the Northwest Florida area, where he and his family want to settle for good. Training and experiences aside, Dr. Duong is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery/ Hand Surgery.

Besides the sciences and experiences, Dr. Duong also has an eye for arts, where he can see the details that bring out the accent of beauty. His artworks include paintings and sculptures of which pictures have graced the covers of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and the two books he had written, The Naked Humanity and On The Mangrove Shoreline.

Dr. Duong was the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award in 2009 and 2010.

Dr. Duong is married to Elvy, and together they have a son, Nathan. The family loves the beach, tennis, and jogging.
