Facelift/Fat Transfer Facelift (Stem-Cell Transfer, Volumetric Facelift, Rhytidectomy)

As people age, the effects of gravity, exposure to the sun and the stresses of daily life can be seen in their faces. Deep creases form between the nose and mouth; the jaw line grows slack; folds and fat deposits appear around the neck. A facelift (technically known as rhytidectomy) can't stop this aging process, but it can set back the clock. Facelift can improve the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, redraping the skin of your face and neck for a younger, fresher and healthier appearance.

The best candidate for a facelift is one, who has sagging skin in the face and neck with some skin tone remaining, who is in good health and has a strong bone structure with realistic expectations. Most patients are in their forties to sixties, but facelifts can be done successfully on people in their seventies or eighties as well.

Commonly, our twenty first century facelifts include fat transfer to add volume to the cheeks, and deep creases where needed. The fat is harvested gently with our state-of-art fat harvest technique maintaining the stem-cells in the fat, so harvested fat not only acts as a volume enhancer, but stem-cells inside the transferred fat rejuvenate the skin as well, with an end result of beautiful, rejuvenated, and NATURAL face and skin. Our facial rejuvenation usually includes turning up the corners of the mouth with a Valentine Anguloplasty as well, enhancing the lips, resurfacing the lines around the mouth, and improving the chin and jaw line. We commonly sculpt the fatty tissue of the face, and sometimes custom design facial implants when needed for the best result.

Our facelift incisions are maximally concealed and designed, so they don’t raise or eliminate your sideburns (as most incisions do). We routinely combine an additional deep supporting layer (SMAS) repair with the skin tightening, which allows wounds to heal without visible stitch marks.

Our facelifts are performed in the privacy of our office setting under local anesthesia, so no general anesthesia or iv sedation is required.
