Hair Restoration Surgery/Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation in Panama City

Hair loss may be due to a number of causes: genetics, hormones, aging, trauma, infection, medications, and systemic illnesses, as well as recent major surgeries affecting the immune system.

Hair Restoration Surgery

Regardless of the cause, the end result of hair loss and balding can be devastating. However, with recent advances in hair restoration techniques, particularly with the introduction of follicular unit hair transplants, hair loss problems can be addressed much more effectively, with more natural results.

During his aesthetic fellowship with Dr. Flowers in Hawaii, Dr. Ceydeli not only mastered the techniques for creating beautiful eyelid shape, but also inherited the secrets of eyelash transplantation from his mentor, which started his hair transplantation career.

Follicular Unit Hair Transplant

He then adopted the follicular unit hair transplantation technique for hair restoration. This involves fine dissection of the individual hair follicles under the microscope. With the advantage of the microscope, the prepared hair grafts are tiny, so the grafts can be placed on the donor site with the smallest incisions possible (1-1.3 mm), in turn leaving minimal to no scarring on the donor site and providing natural results. By preparing the hair grafts under the microscope, certain tissues around the hair can be retained to further improve graft take and survival.

Dr. Ceydeli is a board-certified plastic surgeon, and is thoroughly trained in other aspects of hair restoration surgery, including scalp reduction, tissue expansion, and various scalp flaps. He individualizes the techniques used according to the patient’s needs, and in certain cases uses a combination of hair restoration techniques to achieve the best results.

Dr. Ceydeli performs follicular unit hair transplantation in the office under local anesthesia. Most patients resume normal activity in a day or two. Tiny crusts form where the grafts are placed and usually shed in 4 to 7 days. The small hairs in the newly transplanted grafts normally shed within 2 to 4 weeks after the procedure; permanent hair growth begins within 6 months and full hair growth within 9 to 12 months.
