Do you have a thin upper lip? Are the corners of your lips drooping? These issues can affect perceptions of your emotional state and can make you look older than you might like. Valentine mouth rejuvenation can enhance the look of your lips, making you look younger and more attractive.

Why Do Lips Thin Out?

Some people are born with a thin upper lip. For those who are not, lips still tend to lose their natural shape with advancing age. The distance between the nose and the upper lip also tend to elongate, making the lips droop a little.

When the lips lose volume and thin out, they look less full and hang on the upper teeth. The smile does not show the upper teeth with the hanging lips covering them.

With age, the corners of the mouth also turn downwards, and fine wrinkles and lines develop around the lips. These vertical wrinkles are known as smoker’s lines, or lipstick lines.

Your Valentine Mouth-Rejuvenation Consultation

Valentine mouth rejuvenation, also called Valentine anguloplasty, is a surgical procedure used to revitalize the lips. The process begins with a consultation with Dr. Ceydeli. He will evaluate:

• Your medical history, including any previous facial surgeries
• Any medications you are currently on, including blood thinners and herbal supplements
• Your smoking history
• Your allergies to any medications
• Your expectations from the surgery

Besides the evaluation, Dr. Ceydeli will also:

• Explain the surgical techniques used in the procedure
• Take detailed measurements of your face and lips
• Photograph the area to be corrected for comparison and for the record
• Give instructions on how to care for the surgery site after the procedure
• Show you before-and-after photos of the procedure so that you can see your potential results

What to Expect from Valentine Mouth Rejuvenation

The surgery is performed under local anesthesia in order to ensure that the surgical area is numbed to any pain and the patient is comfortable during the procedure.

An incision is created on the corner of the upper lip, right outside the vermillion border. This incision is in the shape of a heart – the reason why the procedure is called “Valentine mouth rejuvenation.” Tissue is removed, resulting in a lift of the region.

Injectable dermal fillers like Juvederm or Restylane can also be used to restore volume to the area and smooth out wrinkles.

After Your Procedure

You can go home the same day as your Valentine anguloplasty procedure. Recovery takes between five to six days, and you will be able to resume work within a week. Once you have fully healed, you can enjoy full lips with rejuvenated corners and more youthful skin.

The results of the procedure are permanent, so you will not need to undergo repeat procedures for lip augmentation.
